Piping Principles

As we've learned, steam traps come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They consist of a wide range of materials, function according to several different principles and may use different designs, even when the operating principles are the same. Taken all together, these factors give each trap the ability to reliably trap steam, drain condensate and vent non-condensables throughout its service life.

However, a steam trap can function efficiently only when it is properly selected and installed. In this course, we'll learn about the correct installation of steam traps in both standard and more challenging environments.

Installation and operation of steam equipment should only be performed by experienced personnel. Proper selection and installation require competent technical advice and assistance.
